j. jaijanet j. jai is a poet and artist who has developed her own unique forms of visual and sound poetry. A copy of her limited-edition book To Follow the Dance is in the collection of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC. With the support of a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, she has created a videotape of her visual and sound poetry.
jai's sound poetry is incantatory and sometimes multilingual. jai's visual poems turn words into abstract art. She has performed her poetry at Shakespeare and Company in Paris and at the Edinburgh and St. Andrews Festivals in Scotland. She has had one-woman exhibitions in Scotland and in the U.S.
jai has been developing a series of Garden Poems and Art and is currently accepting commissions to visit public or private gardens nationwide and internationally to capture their essence in poetry and art. jai also teaches children and adults to create visual and traditional poetry.
