A writer of poetry, fiction, essays and reviews, Anne Cammon
lives and works at the heart of the New York literary scene.  She has been a featured performer at Bowery Poetry Club, KGB Bar,
J.R. Gallery, Collective: Unconscious and more.  She curates a monthly literary edition of the radio show Art Waves on WKCR FM New York, featuring contemporary works of poetry, fiction and new music in a choreographed, experimental format that transforms the written word into engaging cultural programming.  She also conducts interviews for Arts and Answers.  Her poetry and fiction have recently been published in Nth Position, Poor Mojo’s Almanac[k], Words-Myth, Verse Marauder, Blue Print Review, River Walk Journal, Rumble, the Bloom’s Day edition of Riverbabble, and many others.  Her articles and reviews have appeared in periodicals internationally, including Fly Global Music Culture, Eleventh Transmission and The Hindustan Times.

Producing Art Waves, Anne uses an experimental format to focus on original material from a range of artists.  She broadcasts readings of poetry and fiction alongside in-studio performances of dramatic works, brief discussions with authors about their creative process, and electronic music selections.  Her choreography is noticeable for its sense of pacing and ability to present abstract literary and musical material in an entertaining and accessible fashion.  She has arranged shows on various themes, including all-poetry and all-fiction shows, cross-over artists, experiments in sound-design, rock-poetry, Catalonian Poets and Writers, and many others.   She has also featured various literary presses and magazines including Rattapallax, Watchword, The First Line and Mipoesias.  A long-time resident of the Himachal Pradesh region of India, Anne is also fond of presenting musical and poetic material related to India and the Middle East.

In her journalistic radio work for Arts and Answers, Anne interviews artists, directors, writers and composers arts on events taking place in New York City, and their work at large.  Guests on her show have ranged from Academy Award and Pulitzer Prize winners to underground spoken word legends and little-known writers and composers.  Her mission is to cultivate an appetite for the arts through performance and discussion, bringing emerging and established artists to light while culturally revitalizing the place of literature.

Anne has recently collaborated with the composer Robert Voisey on a text-sound adaptation of poems from her collection, India Songs.  The works will be performed at Bowery Poetry Club and Under St. Mark’s Theater in New York City this January, and will be released on the compilation CD "Beauty keeps laying its sharp knife against me."
