DAWN

dawn percolates fingers of light
through rotting boards and missing nails
where old trains rattle on rusty nails
dawn paints east facing towers white

dawn disperses the mists of night
from the doorways of dingy bars
stifling echoes of drunken guitars
dawn wakes the robin lulls the owl
disturbing sleep with lazy growl
dawn washes my dark sky of stars
