Two Visions
by Mary Barnet

Editor-in-Chief: Mary Barnet

Daniel Mark Epstein is a celebrated poet and historian. His book Lincoln and Whitman is a fascinating account of how Lincoln’s speeches and rhetoric were affected by reading the poet working at that time, Walt Whitman. This year is the 150th anniversary of Whitman’s "Leaves of Grass." Epstein talks about his research and process. He reads poems from his own books as well. What is special about this program is the poet as biographer. Epstein shares his biographies of Edna St. Vincent Millay, Ray Charles, Aimee Semple McPherson, plus others For this interview, The program is distributed  via NPR satellite, Producer/Host Grace Cavalieri and
