Eulogy

When I die
What will be said?

Mother of three
Grandmother of two
Preceded in death by
One hardworking man

Housewife for a while
Housewife to full time mother
When the kids were born
When school started
She was able to work
Only part time
Didn’t she paint too?

Dinner was always ready by 5
On the table by 5:08
Dishes done by 6:15
She started family time
Promptly at 8
Couldn’t she carry a tune?

When I die
Is this all
That will be said

To Death

Living life is
In the now
But soon
(I hope not too soon)
Death will approach
I will not hide
From the lonely creature
Nor will I
Plead for it to return
At a later date and time
Even so, I will
Not host a good bye
Party when I go
Nor will I scream or shout
Out of happiness and glee
I will say thank you
(The respectable custom)
Then pack my bags
And be on my way
