Petroglyophs and Pictographs

Mighty nimrods hurling spears
at charging adversaries - man and beast,
Mystic mazes,
Kokopelli bending to his music,
Enigmatic ghosts and gods
spread-eagled on the rock face,
Random hands as signature.
Is this just childish scribbling,
grafitti marking territory,
etched artistry, rivalling Picasso,
perhaps a story teller's legacy,
Rosetta stones awaiting Champillions,
or just to let us know
"Kilroy was here?"
