The Box
“By being entirely dependent on science, yet closing his mind to it,
he leads the life of an urban barbarian.”
-Arthur Koestler
My computer daily tells me who is boss
You do not have this, or that
You haven’t done
You must do!
And why I ask?
It does not answer but sends instead
A virtual rose, an animated hand
Click here and there and everywhere
And farther and farther I move to outer space
It is a race to see who will go
farther and faster
And yet I know there is no end
just atoms, particles and molecules
Churning about
Creating, creating, no end to creating.
Have we set Pandora’s vengeance on the world
before our brains were ready to receive
the information we would be extinct
Creating our extinction in every pore
In all our cells?
