It's Going To Take All Of Us
Crime, violence, anger and hate,
This has all been rising at an alarming rate;
From guns in our schools, to bombs in a van,
Lives being taken whenever someone can...
"He didn't like my hair" "They fired me today"
They look for any reason, look for any way;
To bring about the misery, that they themselves go through,
They don't know where to go, they don't know what to do...
Little by little, more and more each day,
I watch our civility slipping further and further away;
No one knows how to be nice, to their neighbor anymore,
Instead of "Hi, how are you?", you turn and slam the door...
We wonder why our children, are filled with so much hate,
They take it all for granted, and don't appreciate;
Any of life's wonders, that are there for all to share,
Instead they're always screaming, "you don't listen, you don't care..."
I just wish that I could stop them, from destroying their own lives,
With the drugs, the booze, the fighting, the sneaking and the lies;
But I am just one person, I can only do so much,
It's going to take all of us, to spread that special touch...
So today say you will take a stand, and join the noble fight,
To make our world a better place, Because to me it's just not right;
For I feel we all need to help, and do all that we can,
To help our sons, our daughters, and our fellow man.
