Blues Tender

Shades of blue play near the patio:
Alaska's state flower, the forget-me-not sprigs
cropping up, alongside coral bells,
fleur de lys paraded for May coronations.
The plastic blue tarp unfurled from furniture wintering over,
goingto-seed bluebells,
birdfeeder, blue-capped and columnar,
a wingspan away from the blue birdhouse.
So many degrees of blue--
a game of names while arranging ultrasound;
a five-toned outfit prompting the neighbor kids to
croon, "You must like blue, whatever color it is."
