You've brought the world such joy,
put smiles upon the face
of every girl and boy.
We won't forget the crew
that came along with you
but just for now, so long, Charlie Brown.

you of the magic pen
that lightened up the day
of grown-up women and men,
that found the joy in life
to scare off gloom and strife,

So long, Charlie Brown,
you've moved to higher things;
and maybe as you go,
they'll draw a harp and wings,
and Schroeder's piano
will make the music flow,
but just for now, so long, Charlie Brown.

to Snoopy dog and you,
and LInus, Marcie, Patty
and all the great Schulz crew.
