Rising sweetly in quiet lay
velvet curved softness doe

sea tongues lick my toes
wind breath breathes salty breath
gull calls enter my ears
the dying smell of fish death
waterwaves push me
distant child laughs I hear
blue big sky over me
sun bites and back is seered
shells arrive in early morn
the sand stays all day
wood piers swaying slowly
bathers come to lay
temporary castles of yesterday
crab eyes peek from sand
waterguards patrol up and down
sea oats divide the land
big waves growl with clouds
rain stings hard for rain
kite tails flutter high
hard wind brings sand pain
huge water body before me
tides come and go
lovers walk as one
and sea tongues lick my toes
