Sentinel
Feet embedded firmly
To the planet's core
An umbilical cord
To nurture the spirits
Of long departed Haida warriors
Whose souls remain
Guarding this hallowed ground

In time all human traces
Will fade away
But the spirits will remain
To bear witness to future time
The relentless seas
Of the bitter North Pacific
The mist that envelopes
Like an ethereal spirit
