After Death

We cling with both hands
To what you have left
We pray, we beseech you don’t go
We watch as you struggle
And fight for each breath
Your battle a pain we can't know
We fear for ourselves
For a future uncertain

For a pain which we know we must face
We strain and we toil
As we hold on to memories
That no span of time can erase
We battle our demons
Our pasts' put behind
And we give what we have left to give
We unlock our fates
As we open our hearts
And accept that within us you live
And at last you will leave us
Your pain will be gone
And you hope we will never forget
That one special memory
One picture, one smile
Can burry ten thousand regrets
For what you have taught us
What you have shown us
Your final gift left in trust
That for you to endure in each of our hearts
Life preservers and we must

IN AN INSTANT

A chance encounter, a moment
The likelihood of which
Must have been predestined
By the stars
A bond so intense, a feeling
Whose overwhelming power
Defies you breath
And steals your heart
A glance, a look, eyes drawn together
While ice melting, yet frozen in time
A heartbeat so silent
Yet screaming out your name
Emotions so rampant
That control is an unfettered fantasy
The end of which no one can know
And those who dare try
Will perish, in it's passionate flame
