Vindication

Who is there among us
that drenches this world
in the nectar of the apple?
Where is that old hag now
her nipples crusted as lava
flow hardened with ages
of contemplative cool?
There goes another sage.
Ooops so down goes another
saint another poet another
lover another and so forth.
Isn't it like that with
so much of this life?
Who will go among us
and talk freely on love?
Who dares defy HIV
who dares deny heroin
who dares deny ecstasy
The Latin lover swabs his
locks with cheap oils his
body too, thin, dirty, his
asshole unclean and his
sheets are stained the
whole place stinks of
decay worse than
death.

It happens in the glare of
the noonday sun.
It all happens there in the
haze of the uncaring blanching
light of anybodys day when
you are the someone in an
otherwise anybody's day.

Life happens just that way
in the blistering shadowless
bleach of a sunshining day.
World made brittle in the
unforgiving relentless light
Your wound made silly - the
sun is laughing at your pain.
The light uncaring and the
light so cruel.
Death comes at daybreak
or else it comes at noon
in a chariot of light the
sun at full height you
a failing shadow a blight
and then you're gone that's all.
