When visions bloom in the night

Dawn tells us secrets

Planets whirring in black universes

Reveal what we cannot know

Nothing is lost in a complete

Understanding of a meteoric

Trail of Brightness and Life.

SMALL EMERGENCIES

I was tired and cranky

Playing with the band

I held my rattle again

Shook it softly, but it fell ;

With my rendition of small disasters

My sweet niece smiled ; we laughed

At these stories, again I had to tell.

REPEATING

raindrops on the skylight

stacatto Storm

Trooper of the lightning

stops us with a warning

Leaves us still unaccustomed to

the truth of rain.

COPIER LABELS

Remind me of the work I ought to do;

The "free-floating" angst of my life

Like an island in a great sea

Of time and space;

A great cat

That finally relaxes,

Stretching out

To sleep in the sun.

As if there were no

Work to be done.

IN TRUTH

the value of each day

with us carries a fortification

castles of thought

guard us from our fear

vast spaces so near

the darkness of forgetfulness

passing to empty space.
