The Dance
~
Wrapped in silence, a mind in want
desolate in the solitude of together
as the first sunbeam sneaks through the pane
heating the narrowness of space.
Outside the constant motorcade of sound
while the water flows as it always has,
inside the confines, alongside man
without haste.
~
Adjoining nature, abhorrent life
~
Walking indifference talking untruth
patterns inside outside life,
spinning days into daze,
The quest The dream The race.
As the trees talk in an ancient tongue
driven by a surreal force, carried
on the breeze, a constant reminder -
Not to waste.
~
Abhorrent nature, adjoining life
~
Hollowed thoughts often malign;
when down is as up as you get,
In that never-ending cycle, if,
always caught up in the chase.
Side by side we live, emotions we divorce;
rubber soles on dirt like tires on cement,
as close to nature as we need but its
disharmony we create.
~
Answer nature, answer life.
